Friday, June 21, at 5:30 p.m. , Bryce and Aaron Dessner, members of the band The National, will join a discussion with John Zeppetelli, Director and Chief Curator of the MAC, as part of the presentation at the Museum of the work A Lot of Sorrow (2013–14), by Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson, with whom The National collaborated.
Belonging to the MAC’s Collection, A Lot of Sorrow, was conceived following a performance organized by MoMA PS1, directed by Kjartansson, during which he invited The National to perform its piece Sorrow for six hours straight, or 105 times. The work is presented at the MAC starting June 20.
