As part of the exhibition Skyscrapers by the Roots – Reflections on Late Modernism, the MAC invites you to a walkthrough with François LeTourneux, curator and head of public programs at the MAC.

 

The exhibition walkthrough will take place on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in English, at 5:30 p.m. at the MAC at Place Ville Marie.

 

François LeTourneux is Curator and Head of Public Programs at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. He has curated solo exhibitions devoted to artists Etienne Zack (2010), Jon Pylypchuk (2011), Lynne Cohen (2013–15), and Janet Werner (2019–2020), and co-curated the exhibitions The Québec Triennial (2011), Zoo (2012), Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Unstable Presence (2018, in collaboration with SFMOMA), and La machine qui enseignait des airs aux oiseaux (2021). He is also the curator of the group exhibition Skyscrapers by the Roots (2025), presented at the MAC in Place Ville Marie. As part of his public programs mandate at the MAC, he has organized many editions of the Max and Iris Stern International Symposium, including Manufacturing Exhibitions (2011–12), Abstraction (2013), Topographies of Mass Violence (2017), and Troubling Representation (2023). LeTourneux holds a Ph.D. in art history from the art history and film studies department of the Université de Montréal, where he taught as a visiting professor from 2014 to 2016.
