Since the early 2000s, the Musée has presented Arrimage, an annual exhibition of the creations of hundreds of elementary and secondary school students on Montreal Island.
The program offers visitors the opportunity to see the culmination of a creative process spanning the entire school year. Over the months, the students explore a theme combining science and the arts through visits to the Montreal Science Centre and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. Then, under the guidance of their art teachers, they experiment with different materials and techniques in order to translate their reflections on the chosen theme into a visual art form.
The Arrimage project is part of the program “Une école montréalaise pour tous,” established by Quebec’s Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport in collaboration with the Montréal Science Centre.
