Claudie Gagnon is a multidisciplinary artist who has created installations and tableaux vivants for the past twenty years. Comprised of vast accumulations of domestic objects, her installations are both charming and disquieting, oscillating between the ordinary and the extraordinary. Presented as wordless theatrical performances, her tableaux vivants consist of a sequence of vignettes played by actors. Drawing themes from history and popular culture, they ignite processes that are borrowed from the classic language of painting, theatre, and music.
