Since the 1970s, David Elliott has produced a rich and evocative body of pictorial work that borrows heavily from the esthetic strategies of Pop Art, collage and Surrealism. Elliott’s spectacular paintings teem with direct and enigmatic references to popular culture, history, and art history. They bring into a cohesive whole different types of spaces and relationships to perspective, seemingly disparate styles and radical shifts in scale.
