Since the mid-1990s, Olafur Eliasson has systematically explored—in spectacular ways—the mechanisms of perception, light and other natural phenomena. A veritable multidisciplinary artist whose work encompasses sculpture, photography, film and installation, Eliasson has created and provoked inclusive experiences that go well beyond the gallery into architectural spaces and public environments. His impressive studio in Berlin, Studio Olafur Eliasson, employs nearly 90 artists, artisans, technicians, architects, art historians, archivists, etc. Eliasson’s artistic concerns run parallel to his belief in social responsibility.
