Thomas Corriveau
Born in Québec (Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge) (Québec), Canada, in 1957
Thomas Corriveau has cultivated a deep interest in the image through a multidisciplinary approach that includes painting, collage, photography, video and animation. In 2008, along with Gisèle Trudel and Michel Boulanger, he co-founded Grupmuv, a research and creation lab devoted to drawing and the moving image. Since the early 1980s, Corriveau has dedicated himself to underlining and subverting the very structures that shape and give meaning to stories and images. Through work that feeds on iconographic and conceptual expressions of the human figure and the everyday, Corriveau seeks to raise awareness of the heavily constructed nature of images.
