Tricia Middleton makes paintings, sculptural installations and video works that address themes of transformation, accumulation and degradation as revealing aspects of our overconsuming and wasteful society. Her works gravitate around collections of everyday objects and recycled materials that she transforms into phantasmagorical worlds dominated by an aesthetic of excess, while underlining the inevitable destruction—but also the promise of renewal—to which material objects are destined.
