Recognized as one of the pioneers of video projection and media art, Dutch-born Canadian artist Wyn Gelenyse has spent more than forty years developing a practice based on the notion of memory and identity. His work takes the form of installations with filmic or photographic projections of an often-autobiographical and narrative nature. Many of his works question the dichotomy of public vs private, and stem from the artist’s observations of the human condition. More recently, Geleynse has begun incorporating digital technologies in his practice.
