Rescue Effort is a photograph depicting the scene of a harrowing rescue effort where a group of men struggle to extract a man half-buried in mud. Through clever appropriation of the language of photojournalism, with its close-up and inclusive point of view, this work by Carlos & Jason Sanchez is a realistic work of fiction in which the fear and anxiety propelled by the media elicits empathy from the viewer.
