Please observe the following guidelines when you visit the museum.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Artworks<\/span><\/h3>\n

All our galleries are equipped with video surveillance cameras and an electronic motion-detection system. Please do not touch the artworks; just contemplate them quietly.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Cameras<\/span><\/h3>\n

Photography for personal use is allowed in some exhibition galleries. However, no video equipment, selfie sticks, flash or tripods may be used.<\/p>\n

The museum reserves the right to change this rule, depending on the specific circumstances.<\/p>\n

For professional use, please submit your request to Steven Ross, Head of Public Relations, at 514 847-6232.<\/p>\n

Museum’s photos or videos<\/h3>\n

While visiting the MAC, promotional or archival filming might be underway. This means you may recognisably appear in one of these photos or videos. By visiting the MAC and joining our events, you accept to be photographed and filmed, and you authorize the Mus\u00e9e to use these promotional or archival images in printed, digital, video or electronic format.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bags<\/h3>\n

Visitors may take a medium-size handbag or small front pack into the galleries.<\/p>\n

Umbrellas and inline roller skates, as well as any items larger than 36 x 56 x 23 cm (14 x 22 x 9 inches), must be checked at the cloakroom.<\/p>\n

Luggage may not be checked, except carry-on size. We reserve the right to refuse any item judged inappropriate.<\/p>\n

Please note that we are not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen items.<\/p>\n

Cell phones<\/h3>\n

Please allow other visitors to contemplate the works in silence. We ask you to step out of the exhibition galleries if you must use your phone.<\/p>\n

Families<\/h3>\n

Visitors with families may take a stroller and diaper bag into the galleries. Front baby carriers are also permitted.<\/p>\n

However, we ask you to leave your jogging strollers and back baby carriers at the cloakroom.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

People with reduced mobility<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Mus\u00e9e meets the standards set by K\u00e9roul<\/a>, the Qu\u00e9bec organization that provides information for people with restricted physical ability and lobbies on their behalf.<\/p>\n

The museum building (including exhibition galleries, elevators and washrooms) is accessible and adapted to the needs of people in wheelchairs. As well, a number of wheelchairs are available (free of charge) for use by visitors.<\/p>\n

A wheelchair-accessible entrance is located next to the museum\u2019s main entrance at 185\u00a0Sainte-Catherine. To enter through this locked door, simply press the intercom button to speak to the museum\u2019s security personnel.<\/p>\n

Parking for people with reduced mobility<\/h2>\n

Parking spaces for people with reduced mobility are available at Place des Arts<\/a>. Those wishing to use the spaces are asked to contact the museum\u2019s security personnel (514 847-6263) to find out how to access the museum from these parking spaces.<\/p>\n

Municipal parking spaces with adapted parking meters, as well as reserved parking spaces, are also available in several locations in the borough of Ville-Marie. For more information, visit the Stationnement de Montr\u00e9al<\/a> website.<\/p>\n

Food and beverages<\/h2>\n

Food and beverages are not permitted in the museum, except in designated areas.<\/p>\n

Wi-Fi network<\/h3>\n

A Wi-Fi network is available in the Mus\u00e9e restaurant (1st floor), the Media Centre (2nd floor) and the Donors\u2019 Lounge (lower level).<\/p>\n

Sketching<\/h3>\n

Visitors are allowed to make pencil sketches in all the museum\u2019s galleries. The use of ballpoint pens, fountain pens, ink and watercolour is not permitted. Easels and stools are also not allowed. Please do not impede the movement of visitors through the galleries.<\/p>\n

Lost and found<\/h3>\n

In case of loss or theft, contact the museum\u2019s security personnel at 514 847-6263.<\/p>\n

First aid<\/h3>\n

If you are feeling unwell, please ask a security guard for assistance.<\/p>\n

Visitors\u2019 comments<\/h3>\n

Sculpture Garden<\/h3>\n

The museum\u2019s Sculpture Garden is open to visitors from May to October. It is accessed from exhibition galleries 2 and 3 (at the north end of the museum).<\/p>\n
