Pascal Grandmaison
Born in Montreal (Québec), Canada, in 1975
Since the late 1990s, Pascal Grandmaison’s practice has rigorously focused on photography, video, sculpture and installation. Drawing mainly on the portrait genre, he explores the hybrid nature of the descriptive and narrative aspects of the image. In his work, he probes the boundaries between reality and artifice, exploring the hazy zones that lie in the crack between opposing principles such as presence and absence, or exactitude and the utmost vagueness.
