Focus on Contemporary Art: Installations and Videos is an introductory program to contemporary art, developed from works in the MAC collection and its evolving research platform, the MACrépertoire.

How did the emergence of new artistic forms in the 1960s contribute to redefining contemporary art? This program offers an exploration of installations and videos, allowing students to become familiar with key concepts such as the status of the art object and its relationship to space, audience participation, issues of self-representation and identity, feminism, reflections on archives, and the permeability of boundaries between disciplines.

In an interactive format, the activity helps students develop their powers of observation, analytical skills, and the ability to discuss the issues raised by the works presented. It also provides an opportunity to acquire the foundational skills needed to conduct independent research in the MACrépertoire.
