The Fondation du Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) will hold its next Bal du MAC, its flagship event, on Friday, September 25, 2026, at La Nesra.

Under the theme of L’éclat d’un soir the evening will celebrate what contemporary art reveals: its light, its intensity, and the place it holds in our lives. The Bal will begin with a red carpet and cocktail reception, continue with a gourmet dinner, and extend onto the dance floor with festive music provided by a DJ.

The Bal du MAC raises essential funds for the development, conservation, and diffusion of the MAC’s collection, our cultural heritage. Concretely, this support enables the acquisition of new works, makes them accessible to the public—notably through the MACrépertoire digital platform and initiatives in public spaces—and ensures their preservation, all while supporting local artists.

For the second year in a row, the evening’s visual identity is orchestrated by the maubau agency, in collaboration with Shoot Studio, while the scenography is designed by LaBoom.

A must-attend event for the start of the cultural season and Montréal’s philanthropic community.

At Air Canada, we are proud to support the MAC and the Ball, and to celebrate one of our great cultural institutions.

Marc Barbeau is Air Canada's Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary and is a member of its Executive Committee. He leads Air Canada’s Law Branch and oversees the company’s legal functions and strategies.
Prior to joining Air Canada in July 2021, Marc was Chair of Stikeman Elliott LLP and a member of its Partnership Board and Executive Committee. He has practiced for more than 30 years in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and governance, and offered guidance to businesses and their senior leaders and board of directors as they navigated through transformative transactions, partnerships and other pivotal moments. Marc holds law degrees from McGill University (B.C.L./LL.B. 1984) and Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (DÉA 1985), and is a member of the Quebec and New York Bars. Marc is on the Faculty Advisory Board and is an Adjunct Professor in Corporate Finance at McGill University’s Faculty of Law, from which he received the James A. Robb Award for his support of its academic endeavours. He was appointed to a pro bono committee of experts that advised the Québec Ministers of Finance that led a long-awaited reform of its business corporations legislation

Supporting the MAC through the Bal du MAC means investing in what makes the Museum’s heart beat

Roger T. Duguay is the founder and managing partner of Boyden's Montreal office, where he co-leads all operations for Quebec and Canada. As leader of the Canadian practice of CEO and board recruitment, he is working to redefine the firm's approach internationally, while connecting clients with leaders capable of meeting their expectations in these turbulent times.
During his career as an executive search consultant, he has placed more than 500 senior executives, including approximately 100 board members. He is a member of several boards of directors, including C2 Montréal, often described as ‘the world's most forward-thinking corporate event.’ He is also a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D). Prior to founding Boyden's Montreal office, Roger T. Duguay was with other international management consulting firms. He has also worked in the field of human capital and, most recently, as a managing partner for another large international executive search firm. In addition, he has key experience as an actuary at AON Hewitt and as executive vice-president at Averna, an international high-tech firm. During his doctoral studies in organizational behaviour at HEC Montréal, he focused his research on the motivation, engagement and leadership of senior executives. He holds a bachelor's degree in actuarial science and a certificate in statistical economics from Laval University, as well as an MBA from HEC Montréal.
In 2015, he released a best-selling book entitled Stand Out: The Art of Creating an Impact, which discusses the best approaches to help senior executives make a good first impression. The book, which is based on more than 1,000 interviews with senior executives and professionals across North America, was published by Éditions La Presse. In 2019, he published his second book, Avoiding Faux Pas in the Digital Era, also with Éditions La Presse. This survival guide is essential for shining through your interpersonal skills. Both books are available in English and French. Roger T. Duguay is an actuary, entrepreneur, musician, marathon runner and father.
