Program

En famille at the MAC: Dreaming

Saturdays: October 5, November 2, December 7, 2024, and January 4, 2025
Mornings: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Afternoons: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

First, a tour of the exhibition Alanis Obomsawin: The Children Have to Hear Another Story will introduce your family to this Abenaki documentary filmmaker, activist and singer who works tirelessly to highlight the concerns and tell the stories of Indigenous communities. A selection of her most significant films, along with a variety of artworks and documents to provide context, will immerse you in her world. Then, in the workshop, a series of monotypes from the exhibition will inspire you to experiment with paint on the themes of nature and dreams.

En famille at the MAC: Metropolises

Saturdays: March 15, April 5, May 3 and June 7, 2025
Mornings: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Afternoons: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

For this En famille at the MAC, you will visit the group exhibition Dérives cellulaires, which is inspired by the Museum’s current location in Place Ville Marie, a hallmark of modernism. Bringing together works from different disciplines – installation, video, photography, drawing and tapestry – the exhibition revisits this major architectural movement and how the body fits within it. Reflecting this theme, during the workshop you will use various materials to boldly imagine retrofuturist metropolises.
