Join the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, KADIST, and the GEM Lab for a screening of artists’ films and videos featuring ghost stories and the historical narratives that continually haunt us. History rarely stays in the past; it lingers, spectral, an invisible force that shapes, disrupts, and possesses (and sometimes exorcises) the present. With selections from the collections of the MAC, KADIST, and beyond, this series of essay-films, archival reconstructions, and animations draws on archival footage, semi-fictional narratives, and personal experiences to summon up these visible and invisible presences.
With videos by Patrick Bernatchez, Yin-Ju Chen, Stephanie Comilang, Louis-Philippe Eno, Miljohn Ruperto, Wu Tsang, Paras Vijan and Bo Wang.
