2014 Nocturnes

Montréal, March 4, 2014 — The Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) is once again presenting its Nocturnes, which will now run until after midnight. Throughout the evening, participants will be able to visit the exhibitions, take in live performances and gallery talks with artists or curators, and enjoy a bite or a drink. This makes the museum a perfect place for a get-together with friends. The 2014 Nocturnes will be held on March 7, May 23, June 20 and November 7.

On March 7, for the presentation of Christian Marclay’s video masterwork The Clock, the MAC will be offering a very special Nocturne that will start at 5 p.m. and run until 3 a.m. Visitors will be able to start the evening at 5  with drinks and light bites. They can then explore the exhibitions A Matter of Abstraction, Adrian Paci: Lives in Transit, Collages: Gesture and Fragments and The Clock, in the company of curators and educators who will share their thoughts on the works.

Live performances by the band SUUNS and musician Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, as well as three DJs (DJ Stephane Cocke, DJ Christian Pronovost and DJ Prison Garde) will make for a lively evening into the wee hours of the night. Another new feature: refreshing “Nocturne cocktails” will also be served, to add a special flavour to the event. A colourful evening awaits participants, as the MAC will be bathed in festive red lights for the occasion.

After the performances, visitors can continue exploring the museum’s exhibitions and The Clock all night long and until 6 p.m. the next day.

Admission to the Nocturne, the first of 2014, is $12 (adults) and $8 (students); free for MACarte holders.
