Arts de mémoire

Proceedings from the first Max and Iris Stern International Symposium organized around the exhibition Anselm Kiefer: Heaven-Earth presented at the Musée in 2006. Ten essays, presented in their original language, extend the discussions raised by Kiefer’s work, particularly as it concerns memory. The title is also meant as a tribute to esteemed art historian Daniel Arasse (1944-2003), and to his major research on the “arts of memory” which led him to a completely original approach to Anselm Kiefer’s work. Four essays in English and six essays in French.
