This event is sold out

It’s often said that we live in extreme times. What is our relationship to extremity? What do we hear, see and feel as extreme?

The BANAL collective offers a shared rendering of what we ignore, wittingly or inadvertently, and invites you to explore what lies beneath the sense of alienation through the banality of the extremes.

As activist art often addresses people’s morals, BANAL invites you to text 204-516-9443 what you’re ashamed of. Your anonymous responses will form part of a performance open to the public on February 22, 2024, at 6 p.m.

Open to all. Spaces limited.

This event is presented in the context of the MAC’s Espace M: A project space created to encourage visitors to engage critically with the different issues within the exhibition Velvet Terrorism: Pussy Riot’s Russia.
