Pierre Falardeau et Julien Poulin

Pea Soup, 1978

Black and white video, sound, 94 min

Pea Soup, by Pierre Falardeau and Julien Poulin, is an ethnographic video on the Québécois tribe. The film is a collage, a puzzle, even, where interlocking images and sounds draw the portrait of a nation. Photographic images, text, and scenes shot in various locations such as factories, create a fragmented and virulent critique of Québec’s social and cultural differences.

Portait of Pierre Falardeau.
