What is the MAC transformation project?
Through this transformation project, the MAC plans to reassert its position as a leader on the local and international scenes, and to play an increasingly active role in showcasing, sharing and promoting contemporary art from Quebec, Canada and abroad.
The renovation project will enable the MAC to reach its full potential by expanding its exhibition spaces and offering a wider array of educational activities for all ages.
What is the transformation project’s schedule? When will the MAC’s Sainte-Catherine location close for the transformation project?
The project has been delayed somewhat, and the schedule is being revised. Right now, the dates aren’t known.
In the meantime, the MAC is presenting new exhibitions starting June 20, 2019 and will be open as of that date.
How does this affect memberships? What will happen to my membership card?
Despite the planned transformation, the MAC remains active and maintains its programming.
During the MAC’s transformation, members will continue to enjoy free and unlimited priority access to exhibitions and activities, as well as discounts and benefits from more than thirty cultural partners in Montréal.
Four-year MACarte memberships are currently available at a reduced rate (for the cost of a two-year membership!). This is an exceptional opportunity for members to pledge their support for the MAC and enjoy preferred access for four years.
