Montréal, May 3, 2010 — Scheduled to run from May 15 to 30, 2010, at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Arrimage 2010 – Distortion showcases works created by more than 700 students from twenty Montréal elementary schools following their visits to the Montréal Science Centre and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.
This year’s theme prompted the student artists to rethink, transform and distort the pictorial and sculptural space. Fictional spaces, imaginary places and illusionistic effects come together in this group show resonating with multiple chords.
The exhibition was organized by the Musée’s Artistic and Education Department in conjunction with the Supporting Montréal Schools section of the Access to Cultural Resources Program, under the auspices of Québec’s Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport.
Arrimage 2010 – Distortion is presented in Beverley Webster Rolph Hall from May 15 to 30, 2010. Admission to the exhibition is free. Hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
