Montréal, February 10, 2011Get ready to rediscover the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal this coming April 15, starting at 9 pm. Les Printemps du MAC’s benefit evening, now in its fifth edition, is being held, with proceeds going to the Fondation du Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. This year, the Out of Frame evening invites some 1000 guests to enjoy an experience rich in images, colours and flavours, where many art forms will be showcased. With four successful years to its name, the Printemps du MAC evening has now become a must event on the Montréal social calendar.

Out of Frame will be an immersive artistic experience in every shape and form. Performances, culinary experiences, music, dance and exhibition tours will offer participants a unique and vibrant experience. Over the course of the evening, guests will have the opportunity to view two exhibitions now on at the museum, one by Anri Sala and the other by Daniel Young and Christian Giroux. “Each year, the Printemps du MAC evening attracts more and more people, allowing a younger generation to discover the museum’s dynamic and artistic richness,” says Pascal De Guise, the event’s co-chair and a partner at BCF law firm.

Every year, Les Printemps du MAC chooses a spokesperson from amongst the next generation of Québec artists. For its fifth anniversary, Anthony Burnham accepted our invitation to introduce the young business community to his talent. Anthony is a Montréal-based artist whose reputation extends well beyond our borders. In the last few years, his work has been seen in Canada and Europe, and his exhibition “Even Space Does Not Repeat” is currently on display at the Walter Phillips Gallery of the Banff Centre in Alberta.

Les Printemps du MAC, founded five years ago, was born of the desire to have the younger generation discover contemporary art and to increase public awareness of the role the MAC plays in its preservation and dissemination. The Printemps du MAC committee is formed of a group of young professionals who love art and have made it their mission to organize a unique event every spring, with proceeds going to the Fondation du Musée and supporting the next generation of artists. In its fifth year, the committee is more motivated and ambitious than ever: “The evening is inspired by two of the magnificent exhibitions currently taking place. This will allow us to offer guests a total experience of the senses,” explains Anna Antonopoulos, co-chair of the Out of Frame evening and Chief Financial Officer of the Antonopoulos Group.

All proceeds from the Out of Frame evening will go to the museum’s Foundation. They will be used, amongst other things, to acquire artwork from the next generation’s artists. In purchasing tickets, you will not only take part in a magical evening, but also contribute to enriching the MAC collection.

Tickets are available for $150 each and tax receipts will be issued for the donation portion of your purchase.
