Montréal, November 26, 2015 — Produced by the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) to complement visits to the temporary exhibitions Patrick Bernatchez: Les Temps inachevés and Dana Schutz, two microsites were recently added to the Musée’s website for visitors who would like to learn more about the works and artists currently on display at the MAC. Adapted to all devices (mobile phones, tablets, desktop computers), these aids can help visitors prepare for an upcoming visit or deepen their understanding after the fact. These tools fall under the objectives of Québec’s digital cultural plan. The exhibitions Patrick Bernatchez: Les Temps inachevés and Dana Schutz are on view until January 10, 2016.
In the microsite that accompanies Les Temps inachevés, artist Patrick Bernatchez discusses his own evolution from a resolutely individual artistic process to working with many collaborators in creating pieces that include music and film, among other media. The microsite also contains videos, soundtracks and a huge image gallery.
As for the Dana Schutz exhibition, its microsite – created specifically to be heard in the gallery – presents all the works on display, 12 of which with commentary from the artist herself, in English. A French transcription for each of these commentaries is included. The microsite also features articles, a map of the exhibition and biographical notes.
Schedule
To encourage visits to the MAC in the evening and on weekends, opening hours are extended. The Musée d’art contemporain is open on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
