Artwork description
Like a tall vertical bulb topped by a torso, François Morelli’s Rose is a form caught in a state of metamorphosis. Composed of twisted and interlaced wire hangers that shift from an almost geometric composition at the top, to a more organic shape at the bottom, the sculpture’s ambiguous form seems frozen in a process of metamorphosis and calls to mind ideas of passage, circulation and transformation.
